How we deliver

From project definition through to commissioning and handover, AMBS manages each stage through one integrated delivery framework.

Stage detail

What happens at each stage.

Each stage has a defined purpose, clear deliverables and coordinated progression into the next phase.

our process
01

Project Definition

Project requirements, application, site conditions, programme, scope, and delivery strategy are established before the solution is developed.
02

Design & Engineering

Architectural, structural, and technical requirements are developed into a coordinated project solution for approval and manufacture.
03

Procurement & Manufacturing

Procurement, production, and logistics are coordinated against the project programme as manufacturing progresses within our South African facility.
04

Delivery

Buildings, modules, or component systems are prepared and transported according to the project location and agreed delivery strategy.
05

Installation & Integration

Where included in our scope, buildings are positioned, assembled, and integrated with the required site infrastructure and services.
06

Commissioning & Handover

Where applicable, systems are tested and commissioned before final inspection, documentation, and project handover.
OFF-SITE MANUFACTURING

We move construction off-site wherever the project allows.

SPEED
Faster Project Delivery
Off-site manufacturing can progress alongside site preparation, reducing overall construction time and accelerating deployment.
QUALITY
Controlled Quality
Manufacturing within a controlled factory environment provides greater consistency, repeatability, and quality control throughout production.
PROGRAMME
Greater Programme Certainty
Reduced exposure to weather and fewer site-based activities helps create a more controlled and predictable construction programme.
FLEXIBILITY
Adaptable by Design
Modular buildings can be configured for future expansion, reconfiguration or relocation where required by the project.
SITE IMPACT
Reduced Site Activity
Moving construction into the factory reduces the amount of labour, equipment and construction activity required at the project site.
EFFICIENCY
Reduced Material Waste
Controlled manufacturing, repeatable processes, and more accurate material utilisation can reduce construction waste and improve resource efficiency.
Common questions

What clients ask first.

How long does a modular project take to deliver?

Delivery time depends on the size, complexity, location, and scope of the project. Because manufacturing can take place off-site while site preparation progresses in parallel, modular construction can significantly reduce the overall project programme. Once we understand your requirements, AMBS will develop a project-specific manufacturing and delivery programme.

Are modular buildings as strong as conventional buildings?

Yes. Modular buildings are engineered structural systems and can be designed to meet the same structural performance requirements as conventional buildings. AMBS designs and engineers each building according to its intended application, location, loading conditions, and project-specific requirements. Factory-controlled manufacturing also provides consistent quality throughout the building process.

Can modular buildings be relocated?

Yes. Many modular buildings can be designed for relocation, allowing them to be transported and redeployed as project requirements change. The ability to relocate a building depends on its design, configuration, size, and intended application. AMBS can develop relocatable solutions where mobility and future redeployment form part of the project requirements.

What certifications and standards do AMBS work to?

AMBS operates under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system. Our buildings are designed and engineered to the applicable South African standards and project-specific requirements, with additional compliance requirements incorporated where required by the application, location, and client specification. AMBS also holds Agrément certification for applicable modular building systems.

Do you deliver outside South Africa?

Yes. AMBS delivers modular buildings and infrastructure to projects across Africa. Depending on the project scope and location, we can provide solutions ranging from supply-only and factory-completed modular units to installation and full turnkey delivery. Cross-border logistics and site requirements are planned around the agreed project delivery strategy.

How do I get a cost estimate?

Tell us about your project, including the intended application, location, approximate size and any available drawings or specifications. Our team will review the requirements and advise on the most appropriate solution and the information needed to prepare a quotation.
